How far in advance do I need to place my order? 

We require 3 days notice to ensure we have time to purchase and prepare fresh ingredients for your order. If your event is in less than 3 days, call us. We will accommodate you if possible.

Are you open on Sundays or Statutory holidays?

We are open Monday-Saturday. We close on Sundays and all Statutory holidays,

What is the minimum order? 

$100 and a minimum of 8 servings per each food item ordered.

Do you deliver? 

Yes, within city limits. We charge a minimum $20 per delivery/pick up depending on the distance. Please call for more details.

How will the food be delivered? 

Although you place your order based on the number of servings you want (or number of guests you expect), our food is not delivered in individual portions. Cold items are delivered on disposable plastic trays. Hot items are delivered in disposable aluminium trays, or in chafing dishes which you can rent from us at a minimum cost.

Do you cater to special dietary restrictions? 

Yes. Some menu items already meet common dietary restrictions; others can be easily modified. Please call to discuss. .

Do you provide plates, cutlery and napkins, etc? 

If you need disposable plates, cultery or napkins, please request them when you place your order.  Re-useable serving utensils are also available for $2 each. A charge of $1.50 for plates, cutlery and napkins will be applied.

EthniCity Catering does not rent china plates, glassware, silver cutlery, or linens.

Is food service an option? 

Yes. Our staff can help as needed with your buffet: setting up, replenishing food items, serving hot items, and cleaning up. Service supervisors – one per event – are $23/hour. Service attendants are $20/hour. Please Note: Our staff/servers are not professionally trained as wait staff. Call us for more details.

Do you pay the immigrants who work for you? 

Yes. EthniCity Catering provides real employment experience to immigrants in transition. Our employees are guaranteed paid working hours and are regular, part-time, employees of the agency for the duration of their training.

EthniCity Catering is also a training program, so employees are not expected to remain in the program for many months. As trainees, they receive support in building up workplace essential skills, learn about safe food handling and gain Canadian work experience by working in a commercial kitchen environment. They will also receive support for job search, as well as a reference for future employment.
