Centre for Newcomers’ Syrian Refugee Response
Since November 2015, the Centre has assisted approximately 200 Syrian refugee clients.  These numbers continue to increase as more refugees settle into the community.  This past Sunday Feb 7, the Centre held a resource fair and information session for 70 adults and 35 children.  Community partners included Calgary Police Services, RCMP, the Calgary Pubic Library, Alberta Health Services and RBC Bank.   The Centre has also created a community volunteer-led, staff-supported community connections committee for welcoming and drop-in training activities for Syrian clients.
