Job Search Support and Career Counselling will provide you with the information and skills to guide you in your job search and help you reach your employment goal.
Settlement Services counsellors will help you keep informed and connected to community services as you settle and become independent. We provide one-on-one counselling, capacity-building workshops, referrals to community resources, and assistance in identifying and reaching your settlement goals.
The Centre for Newcomers offers services in English as well as over 40 other languages.

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program CVITP
Preparation for CVITP 2019 is aunderway and CFN will be holding 2 Volunteer Intake sessions for anyone interested in joining the volunteer roster for CVITP 2019.
Monday, November 5 from 6-8 pm
OR Thursday, November 8 from 9-11 am
in rooms 113-114.
There are 3 volunteer opportunities available with CVITP:
1. Admin support – general admin support for the program during the tax clinics
2. Bookings – determine whether clients are eligible for this program and, if so, make an appointment
3. Tax filer – files income tax returns for clients eligible for this service

Would you like to learn and practice computer skills? We offer free computer literacy classes at the
Centre for Newcomers. Content includes an introduction to computers, keyboarding, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
These classes are open to all - refugees, newcomers and citizens of Canada.

This program provides comprehensive and personalized services to EI recipients in Calgary and area for re-entry into the workforce. Clients may receive specialized technical training, childcare support and workers' benefits (WCB) while attending the program.
