FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION MONTH: ADVANCE-D

(A DIGITALLY SUPPORTED PROGRAM TO REDUCE INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE)

NOVEMBER 20, 2024

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

November is Family Violence Prevention Month. During this month, The Centre for Newcomers is excited to host an informative session on the ADVANCE-D Program, an innovative intervention implemented in the UK criminal justice system and designed to reduce intimate partner violence among men with concurrent substance use issues. Developed using the Behaviour Change Wheel framework, ADVANCE-D supports men who are in drug and alcohol treatment while also addressing behaviours related to partner abuse. The program has shown impressive outcomes in the UK in helping men manage substance abuse and reduce domestic violence.

Whether you are a professional in substance abuse treatment, a Case Manager, Therapist, counsellor or psychologist, domestic violence prevention, or simply someone interested in understanding how digital interventions can create lasting change, this event will provide valuable insights into the feasibility and effectiveness of the ADVANCE-D model.
