Who is eligible for LINC Class?
LINC program is for landed immigrants and convention refugees (18 years of age or older).
About the LINC Program
This program helps learners develop necessary language and life skills through real-world tasks to actively function in Canadian society.
The learners are assessed through PBLA i.e. Portfolio Based Language Assessment. The program offers the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills based on Canadian Language Benchmarks.
Centre for Newcomers offers full-time and part-time LINC classes including in-person, blended as well as the Provincial Online Model classes accommodating students from all over the province of Alberta. These classes are free of cost and can be joined anytime of the year.
The childcare services are available for children 19 months to 5 years.

How to Register for LINC Class
Book an English Assessment at the Calgary Language Assessment & Referral Centre (CLARC). You can register for an assessment on their website: https://www.immigrantservicescalgary.ca/clarcregistration/ or call CLARC at 403-262-2656.

If you are interested in English classes at Centre for Newcomers, please inform CLARC.

When Centre for Newcomers receives your referral for English classes you will be contacted by email. Please finish registration by following the instructions in the email.

If you need help with registration, please contact Nicholas Tan at 403-569-3330, by email at n.tan@centrefornewcomers.ca, or please visit Centre for Newcomers with the registration documents (Landing paper, PR Card, Alberta ID).
Registration hours are 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
